We are a contemporary handweaving studio, based at Adyar Chennai.

We supply modern handlooms including portable looms, spinning wheels, felting tools and premium quality yarns for weaving, knitting, crochet, tatting, tapestry, punch needle tapestry and fibres for felting and hand spinning. 

We offer workshops & courses in contemporary hand weaving, hand spinning and felting for beginners and the initiated at our studio.

Serving professional designers, design schools, hobby enthusiasts, slow fashion boutiques, upcycling artists, schools, social enterprises & Rehab centres for Intellectual disorders.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Accountant located at our studio in Chennai. The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and preparing financial reports, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling financial discrepancies, and preparing budgets. The role also involves ensuring compliance with tax regulations, analyzing financial data, and contributing to financial planning efforts. Additionally, the Accountant will assist in streamlining financial processes to support the studio‘s operations.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in accounting practices, including financial record-keeping, financial reporting, and budget preparation
• Experience with accounts payable, receivable, and reconciliation processes
• Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements
• Proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheet tools
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Bachelor‘s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Previous experience in retail or manufacturing industries is a plus
