Backend Engineer

Position Overview The Backend Engineer will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable applications that support high-performance software products. This position collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, secure, and efficient backend systems using modern frameworks and cloud technologies. Professional development support including training, certifications, and learning resources Responsibilities Design and maintain scalable backend applications using Python and Django Build and support APIs, database integrations, and distributed services Collaborate with product, engineering, and DevOps teams to deliver new features and improvements Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code following established best practices Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and agile development processes Contribute to system architecture and overall software design Qualifications Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience working with Python/Node and Django rest frameworks. Minimum 3 years of experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL Experience with AI-assisted tools, including Cursor, in daily development workflows Experience with automated testing and test-driven development (TDD) methodologies Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization, or modern DevOps practices Understanding of Agile or Scrum development methodologies Any frontend experience with React and/or Typescript is a huge plus. Compensation and Benefits This position offers a competitive compensation package including base salary ($180-200k/yr – DOE), bonus potential, equity and a comprehensive benefits program.
