Job Description Due to increased workload and securing new clients within the Education and Data Centre sector, Turner & Townsend has a new opportunity for a Senior Consultant, specialising in BIM, to join our team. Our team are recognised as global experts in the development and deployment of BIM on major projects and programmes, delivering client outcomes which mutually benefit the supply chain and add value to projects. The approach underpinning our delivery is forward‑thinking, careful planning, shared understanding, transparency and collaboration, and an independent and open methodology.
The Opportunity The individual will work alongside a highly skilled team delivering and implementing Information Management from strategy level to project level for global clients. The focus is on Education and Data Centre sector opportunities. Specific sector experience is not required but is favourable.
Key Responsibilities Strategy Development: Capture client requirements to design and author bespoke BIM strategies and workflows that align with industry best practices, including producing documentation for use in contracts and appointments. Implementation Leadership: Manage the rollout of BIM methodologies across programmes and projects, ensuring successful adoption by clients, design teams and contractors. Technical Assurance: Conduct structured model reviews, clash detection and data analysis to mitigate risks and ensure delivery against project requirements.
Stakeholder Management: Facilitate workshops and interface with project partners to communicate strategies and act as an ambassador for digital services. Commercial & Business Support: Create bid proposals, write detailed reports and contribute to the development of internal documentation and quality processes. Team Supervision: Lead and manage teams by peer‑reviewing deliverables, supporting colleagues and maintaining high quality standards.
Experience & Technical Skills Professional Experience: Minimum of 3+ years in a BIM Manager role, preferably with a strong understanding of consultancy environments and project lifecycles. Standards Compliance: Deep working knowledge of BS EN ISO 19650, the Information Management Initiative Framework, and industry information management standards. 3D Authoring: Proficiency in industry‑leading 3D modelling software such as Revit or ArchiCAD. Coordination & Validation: Expert use of clash detection and model checking tools like Solibri and Navisworks.
CDE Experience: Strong experience of CDE platforms such as Acc, Asite and Viewpoint to manage information flow, document control and project collaboration. Reporting: Proficiency with data visualisation tools like Power BI or Tableau to create dashboards and interpret project metrics. Data Verification: Ability to analyse and validate model data, including an understanding of COBie data requirements.
Emerging Technology: Understanding of the wider technology market to support client delivery and drive research and development. Personal Skills Stakeholder Communication: Ability to facilitate workshops, act as a digital ambassador and interface effectively with clients, design teams and contractors. Leadership & Influence: Proven capability to lead teams, champion digital services and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
Critical Thinking: Proactive approach to identifying risks, proposing appropriate mitigations and analysing complex requirements. Inquisitive Mindset: Strong desire to research the emerging technology market and continuously learn new software skills. Autonomy & Drive: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain self‑motivation to meet deadlines.
Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within diverse, multi‑skilled teams to achieve shared project goals. Qualifications Preferably educated to degree level or with sufficient demonstrable workplace experience to satisfy the requirements of the role.
