Department: Model Shop
Location: Fenton, MO
Reports To: Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Classification: Hourly – Non-Exempt
Schedule: 1st Shift
Position Summary:
The primary function of this Machinist position is to work with the Manufacturing Engineering Group to make components for a wide range of unique equipment used in our manufacturing and assembly process.
Essential Job Duties:
Program and Set-up CNC Mazak lathes
Ability to make offsets, change and reset tools
Inspect and ensure that all dimensions are within print specification
Complete required documentation with accurate information
Perform daily preventative machine maintenance
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area
Required Education:
High School Diploma/GED
Formal Machinist training with certificate and/or previous experience
Required Experience/Skills:
1-3 years previous experience with manual and CNC Mazak lathes
Extensive knowledge of Mazak equipment and Mazatrol programming
Excellent blueprint reading skills
Understanding of cutting tools, speeds and feeds, and machining techniques
Ability to use precision measuring devices
Understanding of G and M code
Aptitude to learn pertinent software
Ability to work individually and as part of a team
Work Environment
Will be exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, oils, and chemicals in a loud manufacturing environment
Will be standing on concrete the entire shift
