Compensation: $19/hour
Hours: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Off every other Friday)
Location: Black Mountain, NC
PrideStaff is partnering with a well-established company to find a Machinist for their team. You will work in a professional manufacturing environment where you will perform advanced setups and operate CNC equipment with minimal supervision. This is a role for someone who handles moderately complex parts with precision and takes pride in maintaining high quality and safety standards.

You will work in a professional manufacturing environment where you will perform advanced setups and operate CNC equipment with minimal supervision. This is a role for someone who handles moderately complex parts with precision and takes pride in maintaining high quality and safety standards.
What you will do:
- Perform independent setups on CNC mills, lathes, or both, including selecting tools and establishing offsets.
- Run moderately complex machining jobs, adjusting speeds, feeds, and offsets to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Conduct in-process and final dimensional inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and height gauges.
- Interpret engineering drawings, job travelers, and setup sheets to determine machining sequences.
- Apply GD&T requirements to verify critical features and geometric callouts.
- Identify and correct minor machining or program issues independently.
- Document inspection results, material usage, and part counts accurately.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Level I machinists when needed.

- Experience: Approximately 2 years of hands-on CNC machining experience in a production or precision manufacturing environment.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required ; completion of Technical School training (Diploma) is preferred.
- Technical Skill: Intermediate understanding of machining fundamentals, cutting tools, and workholding.
- Precision Math: Working knowledge of shop math.
- Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and operation sheets.
- Versatility: Ability to operate two groups of machines plus two additional machines (manual, automatic, or CNC).
