Job Description

How you will contribute As a consultant you will work closely with healthcare clients on a range of complex assignments and use your independent judgment and critical thinking skills to create and drive practical solutions. Rapidly build and maintain financial and operational models to assess client performance (including synergy analyses, 13‑week cash flows, and pro‑forma financial statements) Conduct operational data analysis to assist in the development of KPI metrics that track and drive meaningful change Evaluate business operations and support performance‑improvement initiatives Analyze process workflows to identify improvement opportunities and develop solutions Participate in client interviews and capture actionable items Forecast cash flows, analyze and manage liquidity Benchmark internal and external data Perform analysis and develop reports and deliverables Prepare client‑ready deliverables and presentations; assist with presenting to clients Conduct healthcare research Assist with the development of presentations, pitch and proposal content Qualifications High energy and passion for healthcare and solving complex issues Minimum of three (3) years of prior work experience in healthcare, consulting or a related healthcare field such as banking, accounting, audit, private equity or healthcare operations Working knowledge of the healthcare industry Strong Microsoft Excel and modeling skills; ability to create and maintain synergy analyses, pro‑forma financial analyses or 13‑week cash flows is a plus Solid understanding of accounting and finance, including ability to review and understand financial statements and disclosures Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to present information to all levels of client personnel Solid project‑management and organizational skills Ability to conduct operational data analysis and synthesize information to assist in the development of reports and KPIs is a must Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills are mandatory; experience with Visio, Tableau, Power BI, SQL, SPSS, or benchmarking is a plus Willingness and ability to travel as required BA/BS degree and/or MBA/MS in Accounting, Finance, or related healthcare fields such as MHA or MPH Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or demonstrated progress toward such certifications Benefits Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are entitled to Alvarez & Marsal’s fringe benefits, including healthcare plans, flexible spending accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages, as well as a 401(k) retirement savings plan with an annual discretionary contribution when eligibility requirements are met.
