Cost Accountant

The client are a fast growing food manufacturing and production business. They have offices across New Jersey in Freeport and Wyandanch. They are looking for a Cost Accountant to join on a permanent basis to help manage the increased workload. The successful candidate MUST have a manufacturing/cost accounting background and will be happy to work fully in the office.

Client Details

The client are a global food manufacturing business that have grown quickly over the last few years. Due to a rise in demand, as well as the opening of new manufacturing sites, they are looking for a new Cost Accountant to join the team and help manage the expansion. The successful candidate will report directly into the Cost Accounting Manager, and will have full oversight of two main manufacturing plants across Freeport and Wyandanch.

Description

The successful Cost Accountant will:

• Verify the existing product costing (incl. time / weight studies)
• Establishment of standard costs of manufactured goods
• Preparation of scenario calculations on input cost development
• Close collaboration with Supply Chain and Operations to enhance productivity & profitability
• Establish report material & labor variance analysis based on Bill Of Materials and production performance
• Establish inventory cost and reconciliation
• Developing financial analysis / reports to improve processes / profitability
• Support new business process with accurate costing information
• Prepare the underlying data to support CAPEX requests submitted to the local leadership team and to the group.

Profile

The successful Cost Accountant will:

• Have 3-5 years of experience working as a Cost Accountant in a manufacturing business
• MUST be able to work fully in the Freeport and Wyandanch offices
• Prior experience managing the cost accounting across a number of different sites
• Strong analytical skills
• Good Excel skills
• Prior working knowledge of an ERP system
• Excelllent written and verbal communication skills
• Spanish speaker (desirable, not essential)

Job Offer

• $110,000 - $115,000
