Job Title: Cyber Security Engineering Lead Location: Pune Reports to: Head of Cyber Platform Engineering Role Description We are looking for a Cyber Security Lead Engineer to help establish and scale a new Security Engineering team based in India, providing operational ownership and continuous improvement of FNZ’s core cyber security platforms. This role is hands-on and leadership-oriented, combining deep technical expertise, team leadership, and operational accountability across multiple security engineering domains. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring security platforms are reliable, well-tuned, and able to support FNZ’s global technology estate.
The role reports functionally to the Head of Cyber Platform Engineering and locally to an India-based manager for day-to day people and operational support. You will work closely with security engineering and operations teams across the UK, US, and APAC Specific responsibilities Technical & Operational Leadership • Own the day-to-day operation and health of multiple cyber security platforms, including o Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) o Web Application Firewall (WAF) o Security logging and monitoring (SIEM) o Email security o Vulnerability management • Provide early problem management, technical troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis across security controls. • Lead incident-related engineering support, working closely with incident response and SOC teams. • Oversee patching, upgrades, configuration changes, and lifecycle management of security platforms. • Ensure platforms are operated in line with global standards, architecture, and security strategy. Team Leadership & Growth • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of cyber security engineers in India. • Act as a technical escalation point for engineers across supported domains. • Support recruitment and onboarding of additional engineers as the team scales. • Foster a culture of engineering discipline, collaboration, automation, and continuous improvement.

Working Pattern • The team provides global coverage across two shifts between 08:00–11:00 (local time), Monday to Friday. • Occasional out-of-hours support may be required for major incidents or platform changes. Experience required • 5+ years of experience in cyber security or security engineering roles. • Demonstrated experience in a technical lead or senior engineering role, including mentoring or guiding other engineers. • Strong hands-on experience across multiple security engineering domains (e.g.
EDR, WAF, SIEM, email security, vulnerability management). • Solid understanding of enterprise IT and cloud infrastructure. • Proven ability to operate, improve, and troubleshoot security platforms at scale. • Experience working in global, distributed teams. • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to both engineering and non-engineering stakeholders. Nice to Have • Experience building or scaling a security engineering team. • Exposure to automation, scripting, or infrastructure-as-code in a security context. • Experience aligning operational security engineering with security architecture and control design.
