Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This full-time position offers an opportunity to serve students from kindergarten through 12th grade in the Nashville area suburbs, focusing on providing specialized education for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) learners. Candidates will work across various schools within the district, adapting services to meet individual student needs in compliance with current educational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and support to K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique requirements.
  • Collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers to ensure comprehensive student support.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional methods as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with district and state guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Active Tennessee Department of Education teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing education.
  • Experience working with K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing is preferred.
  • Ability to manage caseloads effectively and adapt services based on student needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Completion of required background checks, including fingerprinting as scheduled by the district.

Location and Schedule:

  • Based in the Nashville area suburb, this onsite role requires presence in assigned schools.
  • Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Assignment duration: Immediate start with an end date of May 20, 2026.
