Job Description
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to support 5th grade students in a school setting located in Columbus, OH. This part-time, onsite contract position requires working approximately 80 minutes per month, starting immediately and continuing through May 22, 2026.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing specialized instruction and support tailored to the needs of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Collaborating with classroom teachers and support staff to implement effective educational strategies
- Monitoring student progress and adapting teaching methods to enhance learning outcomes
- Maintaining accurate records and communication with families regarding student development
Qualifications and experience desired:
- Valid Ohio Educator License with a Hearing Impaired endorsement is mandatory (please ensure licensing information is included in your application)
- Previous experience working with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, especially at the elementary level, is highly preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a school environment
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere
