DevOps Engineers

Skills. Experience in a DevOps, infrastructure, or platformengineering role within complex digital environments. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g.

Azure, AWS, or hybrid environments). Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and modern DevOps practices. Experience.

Must haves Experience working in regulated or secure environments (defence, government, or similar preferred). Ability to collaborate effectively and communicate technical concepts clearly. Implementing infrastructure as code using approved tooling and patterns.

Applying repeatable, version-controlled infrastructure to support consistency across environments. Use of AWS for cloud infrastructure, implementing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform. Docker and the Kubernetes ecosystem, including deployment and management of clusters using EKS.

Developing common services, manuals etc. to support delivery teams in taking ownership of their services through the entire development life cycle. CLI (BASH or SHELL). Delivery methods and techniques, including agile scrum experience.

VCS (ideally Github). Building and maintaining containers. Good communication skills both in written and verbal format with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.

Strong soft skills, such as teamwork, problem-solving, and adaptability. Nice to haves Experience of doing all of the above at OS or S level. YAML based pipelines.

Experience with MOD delivery processes. Hashicorp (such as Terraform, Packer, Vault). Observability (such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk) Containerised services (such as Postgres, Redis, Kafka, Keycloak, Elk).
