Finance Director – Renewables IPP, ASEAN (Private Equity Backed)
About the Job Madison Hunt has partnered with a rapidly growing renewable energy platform to hire a Finance Director based in either their headquarters in Singapore or Manila, Philippines. They are focused on developing, acquiring, and managing sustainable infrastructure assets across South East Asia. With an active pipeline spanning solar, wind, BESS and broader energy transition technologies, and having been recently acquired by a global private equity firm, the business is fully funded and entering a significant growth phase.
The Role We are seeking an experienced Finance Director to lead the financial planning and management, and the financial reporting of the platform and its group entities to ensure long-term financial health, strong financial governance and compliance, and accurate financial information. This is a high-impact position, partnering closely with senior management to support strategic decision-making, and the growth and performance across a scaling platform.
As the Finance Director, your key responsibilities will include:
Strategic Financial LeadershipSupport CFO in developing and executing financial strategy aligned with the Group’s growth in renewable energy assets.Support CFO in driving and executing group restructuring and tax planning initiatives.Provide financial insights to support investment decisions, portfolio oversight and regulatory compliance.Partner with CFO and senior leadership team on long-term business planning.
Financial Planning & AnalysisLead budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking.Monitor project spend, profitability, cash flow and cost control.Provide variance analysis and actionable insights.
Accounting & Financial ReportingEnsure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with IFRS/local GAAP and regulatory requirements.Ensure accurate and timely consolidation of group entities.Ensure full compliance with holding company’s reporting requirements.Oversee external audits of all group entities.
Governance, Controls and ComplianceEstablish and maintain strong internal controls and financial governance framework.Ensure compliance with established delegated authorities, policies and processes.Identify and mitigate financial, operational and regulatory risks.Oversee tax filings and compliance and regulatory compliance, including compliance with energy regulations.New ERP design and implementation delivered on time and within budget.
Treasury & Cash Flow ManagementManage liquidity, funding requirements, and capital allocation.Oversee hedging strategies (e.g. FX, interest rates) where relevant.Optimise funding structure for project and corporate financing.Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions.
Team LeadershipLead and develop a high-performing Finance Team.Provide clear direction and coaching to team members.Foster a culture of integrity, collaboration and continuous improvement.Promote collaboration across business development and legal teams to support business goals.
The Candidate 10-15+ years in finance, with significant management/leadership experience.Strong background in financial management and reporting, strategic planning, budgeting and governance with attention to detail.Experience in renewable energy highly preferred.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Commercial acumen and strategic thinking.Leadership and team development capability.Strong stakeholders’ management and communication skills.Motivated to grow within a long-term, rapidly expanding platform.Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.Professional accounting qualification is required (e.g. CPA, CA, ACCA).
