Job Description
To manage and oversee the month-end close, general ledger, financial reporting, statutory & internal audits, internal controls, ICOFR testing, and banking activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting while building a strong and capable finance team.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
- Lead the month-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate recording of financial transactions, journal entries, and adjustments
- Review and approve general ledger reconciliations and resolve discrepancies within defined timelines
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and management reports
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
General Ledger & Reconciliations
- Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger, chart of accounts, and subsidiary ledgers
- Perform regular GL, bank, and intercompany reconciliations
- Monitor updates in accounting standards and assess their impact on financial reporting
Statutory & Internal Audits
- Prepare audit schedules and financial statements as per Ind AS
- Coordinate with statutory and internal auditors and ensure timely closure of audit requirements
- Ensure minimal audit observations and qualifications
- Ensure compliance with internal processes and company policies, supporting strong internal audit outcomes
ICOFR & Internal Controls
- Establish and maintain a robust internal control framework
- Drive effective ICOFR implementation and testing
- Ensure minimal non-compliances and timely remediation of control gaps
Team Development & Leadership
- Hire, train, and motivate finance team members
- Identify training needs and facilitate technical and functional skill development
- Conduct performance appraisals and support succession planning
- Develop internal talent for key finance roles
Skills & Knowledge
Functional Skills
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems
- Working knowledge of SAP and MS Excel
