Role Description: Frontend Developer Lead II – Software Engineering
UST is searching for a Frontend Developer who will design, build, and maintain high-quality React applications using modern patterns and best practices.
The Opportunity
- Develop reusable, well‑typed UI components using Material UI (MUI) v5–v7
- Implement robust state management using Redux Toolkit
- Build rich, interactive features including data grids, charts, and date pickers using MUI X Pro
- Optimize application performance through code splitting, memoization, and profiling
- Implement advanced routing strategies with React Router v6/v7, including nested routes and lazy loading
- Ensure accessibility best practices (WCAG, ARIA, keyboard navigation) are followed
What You Need
- Core Frontend Skills: React 19 – Functional components, hooks, context, and performance optimization
- TypeScript 5.x – Strong typing, generics, utility types, discriminated unions
- Redux Toolkit – Store design, slices, typed hooks
- Axios – Interceptors, error handling, request/response transformations
- Material UI (MUI) v5–v7 – Theming, customization, sx prop, overrides, DataGrid, DatePickers, Charts
- React Router v6/v7 – Nested routing, route guards, lazy loading
- Webpack 5 – Custom configuration, loaders, plugins, bundle optimization
- Babel – Presets, plugins, polyfills, tree shaking
- Jest React Testing Library – Unit and integration testing, mocking, coverage
- Additional tools: TipTap, MapLibre GL, TanStack React Query, Performance profiling
- DevOps & Engineering Practices: CI/CD pipelines – Gitlab CI/CD or similar
Compensation
Remote‑US: $82,000‑$123,000
Benefits
