Full -time Surgical Physician Assistant – Northern Dutchess Hospital

*Description* br /br /The Surgical PA Service at Northern Dutchess Hospital is seeking to add a board-certified full-time Physician Assistant to join its team. We are a hospital-based group that offers a supportive and team-based environment with exposure to multiple surgical subspecialties. Responsibilities currently include OR first assist coverage as well as perioperative management of patients on the general surgery service. This position is a great opportunity for growth with a high volume of DaVinci Robotic Surgery cases.br /1. OR First Assisting- Surgical PA Services first assist in the OR for specialties including but not limited to general, plastic, spine, bariatric and OB/GYN cases.br /2. Rounding- Surgical PA#39;s round on general surgery patients daily. This is done as a team-based approach with attendings, residents, students.br /3. Consults/ Admissions- Surgical PA Services covers admissions and consults for general surgeonsbr /4. Night Coverage – On call from home. Night coverage responsibilities include first assisting emergent OR cases, admissions and consults for general surgery.br /5. Floor Procedures- Surgical PA#39;s are responsible for floor procedures including but not limited to NG tube insertion and removal, wound vac and dressings changes, bedside Iamp;D.br /6. There is cross-coverage between NDH PA services and Vassar Brothers Medical Center PA services in a limited capacitybr /This position is for four 10-hour shifts per week with one weekend shift per month. There is an extensive onboarding and training period as well as a supportive environment for collaboration and learning.br /*Qualifications*br /· The qualified candidate will be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and be NCCPA certified as well as possess strong surgical and patient management experience.br /· Candidates with at least one to three years of surgical experience and/or surgical residency trained candidates preferred, but new graduates will be considered as will new nurse practitioners with RNF certification and surgical experience.br /Highly competitive compensation package, comprehensive benefits and generous allowances for CME and professional dues/expenses offered.br /We are a Section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and therefore eligible employees may qualify for forgiveness of certain federal student loans under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.br /Job Type: Full-timebr /Pay: $120,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year commensurate with experience
