Fund Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

End-to-End Fund Accounting Management:

• Manage day-to-day fund accounting for AIF clients, including NAV computation, investor allocation, fee calculations, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Client Engagement:

• Act as the single point of contact for fund managers, auditors, and custodians regarding fund accounting matters.

Audit Support:

• Lead year-end and interim audits for funds; coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of reports and working papers.

Process Improvements:

• Identify gaps and implement improvements in the fund accounting processes to enhance accuracy, turnaround time, and controls.

Regulatory and Compliance Oversight:

• Ensure accounting policies comply with SEBI AIF Regulations, IND-AS, and other applicable financial reporting standards.

Reporting:

• Prepare monthly/quarterly fund financials, investor reporting packs, capital call and distribution notices, and regulatory filings.

Key Skills and Experience:

Essential:

• 5–8 years of relevant Fund Accounting experience (mandatory experience with Alternative Investment Funds or Private Equity Funds preferred)
• Hands-on experience in NAV workings, expense accruals, equalization methodology, capital calls, distributions, and investor reporting
• Strong knowledge of SEBI AIF Regulations, IND-AS, IFRS (preferred but not mandatory)
• Experience working with custodians, auditors, and fund administrators
• Ability to handle pressure and deliver on multiple deadlines

Technical Skills:

• Advanced MS Excel (mandatory)
• Familiarity with fund accounting systems/software is a plus (e.g., Investran, eFront, or similar platforms)
• Basic understanding of fund structures, PPMs, Contribution Agreements

Leadership Skills:

• Ability to independently lead a small team
• Attention to detail, accountability, and strong problem-solving skills
• Good communication and client-handling abilities

Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA)/MBA (Finance)/CPA/Semi-qualified CA with strong Fund Accounting experience
• Additional certifications in Fund Accounting/Financial Reporting will be a plus
