Grants Finance Coordinator

Salary Range: $60,000–$65,000

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Grants Finance Coordinator to join our finance team. The Grants Finance Coordinator serves as a key liaison between program management and funding sources, ensuring compliance with grant regulations and accurate, timely financial reporting.

In addition to grant oversight, the Grants Finance Coordinator supports accounts payable activities and vendor relationships, contributing to strong internal controls and effective financial operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with both numbers and people in a mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities – Grants Finance Coordinator

Grant Management

As a Grants Finance Coordinator, you will:

  • Monitor grant status, expenditures, and transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with grant-specific requirements, policies, and deadlines
  • Maintain thorough documentation to support audits, reviews, and funding agency inquiries

Accounts Payable

The Grants Finance Coordinator is also responsible for:

  • Processing vendor invoices and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Maintaining accurate accounts payable records and vendor files
  • Preparing payments and reviewing credit card activity for accuracy and compliance
  • Assisting with monthly financial reporting related to payables

Customer Service & Internal Support

  • Responding to vendor and internal staff inquiries related to grants and payments
  • Resolving documentation, payment, and compliance issues professionally and efficiently
  • Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times

General Duties

  • Assisting with agency-wide accounts and special finance projects
  • Attending required meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions
  • Maintaining an organized, efficient, and compliant work environment

Qualifications – Grants Finance Coordinator

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of accounting experience; nonprofit or grant-funded experience preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-service mindset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and virtual meeting tools
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities
  • High attention to detail with the ability to prioritize deadlines effectively
