The Opportunity We are seeking a full-time results-driven Group Sales Manager to serve as the strategic face of The National Conference Center. This isn't a standard hotel sales role; we are a dedicated training campus designed for high-impact learning. The ideal candidate will understand the nuanced distinctions between a transient hotel with meeting space and a purpose-built conference center , possessing the expertise to effectively articulate those unique value propositions to our target audience." We need a "hunter" who understands that our Corporate and Association clients aren't just looking for guest rooms-they require a trusted partner to help them achieve their professional development goals.
The ideal candidate will excel at building relationships with decision-makers and will serve as a consultant to today's top organizations, understanding their unique training requirements to transform their visions into high-impact meetings. We seek someone who thrives on finding new business and has a proven track record of aggressive revenue generation. You will own the entire sales lifecycle within the Corporate and Association markets, from aggressive prospecting and lead generation to expert contract negotiation.
ESSENTIAL TASKS: Creates and manages an account database to increase sales through cold calls, prospecting, and distribution of sales collateral digitally. • Conducts telephone solicitation calls to generate new business and contacts daily. • Strategically develop, plan, and implement plans and objectives in target markets and to achieve revenue and profit levels as determined by Senior Management. Coordinates and executes comprehensive property site tours for prospective clients, specifically focusing on large-scale group bookings and event planners to secure high-value contracts • Determines and secures proper meeting space for groups/ guest rooms. • Greets and services all clients/groups to ensure satisfaction, meet satisfaction surveys. • Follow-up with all clients through phone calls, letters, and site tours to secure contracts and ensure customer satisfaction. • Must generate contracts and understand verbiage conducive to the Hospitality Industry. • Inputs data to generate contracts, update client files, and enters information into sales system/Opera. • Participates in special projects as needed, assists with all functions of the Center if needed. • Communicates and collaborates with other departments to provide quality service for all groups. • Attends tradeshows, industry related meetings as assigned to generate leads. • Follows the National policies and procedures and safety and sanitation policies and procedures. • May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or overtime. • Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the manager. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: .
Education: College degree preferred but not required. Experience: Minimum of three to five years previous group sales manager experience in Hotel Sales with a preferred background in larger group convention style hotels or conference centers. Experience working for third party meeting procurement organizations is also welcomed.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills, ability to maintain composure, and the ability to make quick decisions. Requires effective written and verbal communication skills. Must work well independently.
