About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Healthcare Risk Management Nurse to enhance our Clinical Quality Management (CQM) Program at the Defense Health Agency (DHA). In this crucial role, you will manage processes to ensure the effective tracking and resolution of healthcare risk management information in line with established policies, laws, and regulations. This includes monitoring adverse events, processing tort claims, handling death and disability cases, and managing administrative and clinical adverse actions.

Your extensive clinical knowledge and expertise in quality management and healthcare risk will be instrumental in driving effective solutions.

This is a fully remote position. You will need to be available from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST, Monday through Friday. Please note this position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities

  • Draft HQ level documents such as procedural manuals, decision memorandums, and other necessary documentation for processing adverse events and actions.
  • Provide technical and analytical support for healthcare management and program analysis related to enterprise healthcare risk management and credentialing.
  • Prepare and present reports and briefs to multiple stakeholders to communicate findings and updates.
  • Compile weekly HRM status reports to include in the CQM Weekly Performance report.
  • Offer guidance on database management and assist in preparation and analysis of reports.
  • Mentor and educate junior DHA HRM staff, Network personnel, and MTF staff as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutes, Department of Defense Instructions (DoDI's), and DHA policies related to the CQM program and reporting protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in healthcare risk management, ideally within the Military Health System (MHS) or other DoD healthcare organizations.
  • A minimum of 5 years in leadership roles managing healthcare risk managers.
  • Five years of experience supporting healthcare management through data analysis.
  • Familiarity with the Defense Health Agency (DHA)/Military Health System (MHS).
  • Experience in corporate, HQ, or large medical systems.
  • Excellent communication skills suitable for different organizational levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience with Centralized Credentials Quality Assurance System (CCQAS) or comparable credentialing databases.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain Public Trust or equivalent DHA security clearance.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without any employer sponsorship.

Education and Training

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in nursing; an Associate's degree may be considered with significant relevant experience.
  • Registered Nurse with current, unencumbered licensure.
  • Certification in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) is required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required.
