Hr Compliance Officer

What Youll Be Doing (Position Summary):

The HR Compliance Officeris responsible forensuring that all HR activities within CIBC India are compliant with local laws, regulations, and CIBC enterprise policies. This role manages HR governance, records management, statutory filings, payroll compliance, and supports the Head of HR India in regulatory matters, audits, and anti-discrimination programs. The HR Compliance Officer plays a key part in safeguarding CIBC Indias legal and regulatory standing while enabling effective HR service delivery.The HR Compliance Officer is expected to proactivelyidentifycompliance risks and recommend solutionsand will play an active role in supporting the evolution of the HR function as CIBC India grows.

How Youll Succeed (Responsibilities):

• Manage CIBC India HR compliance frameworks, governance, and controls.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable local laws, regulations, statutory filings, and record-keeping requirements.
• Maintain local HR policies, procedures, and documentation aligned with enterprise standards and local legal requirements.
• Complete local payroll reviews and checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements.
• Oversee physical and digital employee record retention and maintenance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping practices for HR activities, audits, and inspections.
• Support theHead of HR, CIBC Indiaduring HR audits, regulatory inspections, and preparation of responses tolaborauthorities.
• Assistin the implementation and maintenance of anti-discrimination programs and associated reporting.
• Support theHead of HR, CIBC Indiain their Liaison Officer duties under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act bymaintainingappropriate recordsand compliance documentation.
• Provide support to theHead of HR, CIBC Indiaon regulatory risk and compliance matters related to HR.
• Monitor changes in locallaborlaws and regulations, ensuringtimelyupdates and compliance across HR practices.
• Partner withHead of HR, CIBC India,SeniorHR Business Partner, and other HR leaders to ensure compliance is embedded in all HR processes and initiatives.
• Advise HR and business leaders on compliance requirements and best practices.

Experience: 10+ years of experience

Must Have Skills:

• Proven experience in HR compliance, HR operations, or a related HR governance role, preferably in a multinational or GCC environment.
• Strong knowledge of Indianlaborlaws, employment regulations, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Experience in records management, payrolloversight andcompliance, and HR audits.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability tooperatein a dynamic, high-growth environment and adapt to evolving regulatory requirements.
