About us:
Infection Control practitioners coordinate activities designed to prevent, monitor, and manage healthcare-associated infections, making them an integral part of the contemporary healthcare system. Success in these activities depends on the recognition by all healthcare workers that effective infection prevention, surveillance, and control require a multidisciplinary approach and commitment. Infection control activities, policies, and procedures are based on legislative requirements, international and national guidelines, and Australian Standards.
Across the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service, infection control practices are guided by the CQHHS Infection Control Management Plan (PDF, 93 KB ), in accordance with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards, particularly Standard 3: Preventing and Controlling Healthcare-Associated Infections.
About the role:
A Clinical Facilitator Grade 6 is a Registered Nurse who:
- Provides nursing services in health service settings;
- Is responsible for a portfolio focusing on clinical care/leadership, management, education, and/or research.
The activities at this level are mainly clinical but also support management activities and provide advice on contemporary infection control practices to meet strategic and operational objectives, aligning with the CQHHS Quality, Safety & Risk strategic priorities and the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) National Standards.
About you:
- Mandatory qualification: Current nursing registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Total remuneration up to $131,900 p.a., comprising:
- An hourly rate between $54.44 - $58.30;
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution;
