Interior Designer

Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Architect & Interior Designer to join Vertical Living in Chennai. The ideal candidate is someone who can independently own projects end-to-end — from initial client consultation and concept development through to execution and handover. You will be the primary point of contact for clients, so strong communication and presentation skills are just as important as design ability.

This is a full-time, on-site role suited for someone who has worked in a fast-paced, execution-driven environment like design-build companies — and is comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end interior design projects — from site measurement and concept design to final execution and client handover
• Serve as the primary client-facing contact: understand briefs, present design proposals, and manage expectations throughout the project
• Prepare detailed drawings, 3D visualizations, BOQs, and material specifications
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and site supervisors to ensure timely delivery
• Source and specify furniture, fixtures, and finishes (FF&E) within client budgets
• Conduct regular site visits and quality checks during execution

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture
• 3–6 years of experience in residential and/or commercial interior design, preferably with a design-build firm
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and 3D rendering tools (3ds Max, Lumion, or similar)
• Strong client-handling and communication skills — ability to present ideas clearly and manage feedback
• Experience with BOQ preparation and budget management
• Knowledge of materials, finishes, and vendor ecosystem in Chennai
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
