Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist (Special Procedures) – Travel
Location: Charleston South Carolina
Job Type: Travel / Contract – 13 Weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40/week
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology (IR) / Special Procedures Technologist to join a dynamic imaging team. In this role, you will work closely with radiologists to perform advanced diagnostic and interventional procedures while ensuring patient safety and high-quality imaging outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform interventional and special procedures under radiologist supervision
- Assist physicians during IR and hybrid OR procedures
- Prepare and educate patients, ensuring informed consent
- Maintain patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures
- Accurately document patient data, orders, and clinical history
- Operate imaging equipment efficiently while minimizing repeat exams
- Follow radiation safety standards (ALARA principles)
- Support and train student radiologic technologists
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and assist across imaging departments
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Radiologic Technologist experience
- OR at least 1 year of IR / Special Procedures experience
- Graduate of an accredited Allied Health program
- ARRT (R) Certification
- South Carolina Radiographer Certification (SCRQSA)
- BLS (AHA)
- Recent IR / Hybrid OR experience required
Preferred Qualifications
- ARRT Vascular Interventional (VI) Certification
- Completion of an accredited IR program
*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
