Java & Cloud Software Engineer - Analyst

Your team responsibilities:

The Sustainability & Climate (S&C) Engineering Team is responsible for designing and building scalable, cloud-native data platforms that power the firm’s sustainability and climate analytics. The team develops distributed microservices, data ingestion frameworks, and processing pipelines that handle large-scale ESG and sustainability datasets with high accuracy and reliability.

Key team objectives include:

• Building and maintaining cloud-based microservices for large-scale data processing.
• Designing efficient, distributed data systems in the public cloud (GCP / Azure).
• Managing data pipelines, catalog, and data lake environments for high-performance analytics.
• Ensuring data quality, security, and availability for client-facing applications.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver sustainability and climate data solutions at scale.

Your key responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Java and Spring Boot microservices for sustainability and climate data platforms.
• Develop and optimize cloud-native data processing pipelines and APIs to ensure scalability and performance.
• Collaborate with data engineers and business teams to integrate data from multiple sources into standardized frameworks.
• Support and enhance the Enhanced Feed module, ensuring accurate and timely data delivery to clients.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle — requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Troubleshoot production issues, ensuring high system reliability and minimal downtime.
• Adhere to best practices in DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud deployment automation.
• Contribute to documentation, code reviews, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Your skills and experiences that will help you excel:

• Strong proficiency in Java (preferably Java 17+) and Spring Boot for backend development.
• Experience building and maintaining distributed, data-intensive platforms in a cloud environment (GCP / Azure).
• Hands-on experience with REST APIs, microservice architecture, and event-driven systems.
• Familiarity with big data frameworks (Spark, Databricks) and distributed processing concepts.
• Working knowledge of database technologies (SQL / NoSQL) and data modeling.
• Exposure to DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for building scalable, sustainable solutions that contribute to the firm’s Sustainability & Climate initiatives.
