Lead Aide II

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Academic&BehavioralSupport
  • Assiststhe teacher with implementing the students' Individual Education Plans (IEP)
  • Able to understand and implement a BIP
  • Provides instructional support in content areas, as directed by the teacher
  • Participate in, and/orfacilitaterecreational activities of various sorts (i.e.athletic,arts, andcrafts, off-campus trips, cultural awareness, etc.).
  • Implement provided written assignments, as needed
  • Document and report all legal, education, and service records/files as needed
  • Supports in record keeping, as directed by the teacher
  • Implements the classroom or social behavior management system, including coaching students so that they can quickly return to school tasks
Scheduling
  • Assistwiththe staffing of aides based on absences, late arrivals,and/orearly departures
  • Support with placement of subs as necessary
  • Notify the teachers prior to a sub placement
Student Support "Kits"
  • Assistwithmaintaining"Kits" used both in training and for continued student/staff support
  • Ensure the"Kits" include documentsregardingstudents and various resources for theaides to use daily such as service and break logs
  • Assistwithdistributionof "Kits" tobehavioral aides
Skill Competencies
  • Review and evaluate the performance of all staff members to ensure the proper implementation of treatment/behavioral plans daily.
  • Assistsother personnel as may berequiredfor the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
  • Collaborate with school personnelwithbehavior support strategies.
Active Supervision
  • Reviewall IEPs, ISAs, BIPs and BERs/Incident Reports for files to ensure compliancewith Behavioral Aides
  • Helpsmaintainthe physical school environment to keep it functional, safe, and clean
  • Supervises students during class breaks and during lunch
  • Assiststudents with eating, using the bathroom and moving from one classroom to another
  • Maintain consistent awareness of client's whereabouts to ensure safety, including directing clients toappropriate groupsor areas in the community or school. Including but not limited to, transportation transitions
  • Reports daily attendance of students and staff to Supervisor
  • Assistwith collection of staffmonthly service and break logs
  • Complete otherresponsibilitesas assigned

MINIMUM SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Experience working in a school or treatment setting for students with learning or social/emotional problemsas a Lead Aide I
  • DOJ/FBI Live Scan Background&TB Clearance
  • Pro-Act,CPIand/or CPR certification helpful
  • Working knowledge of standard business practices and procedures
  • Computer-literate; knowledge of standard company software applications, internet
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Problem-solving ability and proven accuracy with detailed information
  • Proficient written and verbal English language communication skills, including business writing and professional telephone manner
  • Reliability,dependabilityand flexibility

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Occasional exposure to dust,pollenand fumes
  • Requires frequent reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking,stooping,bending,crouching,kneeling,running,carryingand lifting50or morelbs.
  • Must be able to see and hear within normal range with or without correction.
  • The noise intensity level is moderateto high
