Job Description
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Assiststhe teacher with implementing the students' Individual Education Plans (IEP)
- Able to understand and implement a BIP
- Provides instructional support in content areas, as directed by the teacher
- Participate in, and/orfacilitaterecreational activities of various sorts (i.e.athletic,arts, andcrafts, off-campus trips, cultural awareness, etc.).
- Implement provided written assignments, as needed
- Document and report all legal, education, and service records/files as needed
- Supports in record keeping, as directed by the teacher
- Implements the classroom or social behavior management system, including coaching students so that they can quickly return to school tasks
- Assistwiththe staffing of aides based on absences, late arrivals,and/orearly departures
- Support with placement of subs as necessary
- Notify the teachers prior to a sub placement
- Assistwithmaintaining"Kits" used both in training and for continued student/staff support
- Ensure the"Kits" include documentsregardingstudents and various resources for theaides to use daily such as service and break logs
- Assistwithdistributionof "Kits" tobehavioral aides
- Review and evaluate the performance of all staff members to ensure the proper implementation of treatment/behavioral plans daily.
- Assistsother personnel as may berequiredfor the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
- Collaborate with school personnelwithbehavior support strategies.
- Reviewall IEPs, ISAs, BIPs and BERs/Incident Reports for files to ensure compliancewith Behavioral Aides
- Helpsmaintainthe physical school environment to keep it functional, safe, and clean
- Supervises students during class breaks and during lunch
- Assiststudents with eating, using the bathroom and moving from one classroom to another
- Maintain consistent awareness of client's whereabouts to ensure safety, including directing clients toappropriate groupsor areas in the community or school. Including but not limited to, transportation transitions
- Reports daily attendance of students and staff to Supervisor
- Assistwith collection of staffmonthly service and break logs
- Complete otherresponsibilitesas assigned

MINIMUM SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors Degree
- Experience working in a school or treatment setting for students with learning or social/emotional problemsas a Lead Aide I
- DOJ/FBI Live Scan Background&TB Clearance
- Pro-Act,CPIand/or CPR certification helpful
- Working knowledge of standard business practices and procedures
- Computer-literate; knowledge of standard company software applications, internet
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks
- Problem-solving ability and proven accuracy with detailed information
- Proficient written and verbal English language communication skills, including business writing and professional telephone manner
- Reliability,dependabilityand flexibility
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Occasional exposure to dust,pollenand fumes
- Requires frequent reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking,stooping,bending,crouching,kneeling,running,carryingand lifting50or morelbs.
- Must be able to see and hear within normal range with or without correction.
- The noise intensity level is moderateto high
