We are seeking a board-certified OB/GYN for a locum tenens assignment in New York, starting Mar 2, 2026, for 36 days. This opportunity includes office hours Monday through Friday and a combination of weeknight and weekend call, with 24-hour call coverage on weekends.
The assignment involves working alongside a collaborative team in a rural setting, with support from certified nurse midwives, a family medicine physician with OB focus, and other OB/GYNs. Job Details Location: New York Start Date: Mar 2, 2026 LOA: 36 days Provider Type Needed: Obstetrician/Gynecologist Schedule: Monday-Friday: 8am-5pm office coverage 1-2 weeknight calls Saturday/Sunday: 7am-7am (24-hour call) 7am Mar 1 - 7am Mar 16 7am Mar 23 - 7am Apr 1 7am Apr 3 - 7am Apr 14 Responsibilities and Duties Provide comprehensive OB/GYN care in an outpatient office and on-call setting Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including OB/GYNs, FM/OB, and CNMWs Manage deliveries, averaging 385 to 450 per year, with a C-section rate under 30 percent Oversee patients through 36 weeks of gestation; refer high-risk cases as appropriate Conduct surgical procedures, primarily on Tuesdays and Fridays (OR days) Participate in call rotation, with support from certified nurse midwives and first assist Utilize Epic EMR for patient documentation and workflow Provide patient education and ensure quality standards in a rural health environment Additional Information Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology required Active NY license required Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications required Prior rural health experience strongly preferred Anesthesia support available within 30 minutes (not in-house) Office staff includes LPN, reception, and office manager No deliveries or call the day following a weekend call period Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
