Marketing Coordinator
Orah
Job Description
We want Orah to be a place where people can do their best work and feel comfortable being themselves. We care more about how you think, how you act, and the perspective you bring than whether you tick every box on a job description. If you believe you can make a strong contribution here but your experience doesn't line up perfectly, apply anyway. We'd love to hear from you.
Orah is a school safety platform that helps independent schools know where students are. Orah uses the routine processes that schools already run to keep student locations updated in real-time, for use in daily operations and emergencies, making it easier for schools to account for students and significantly reduce crisis response times.
We're a 35-person EdTech SaaS company with a growing Toronto hub.
About the Role
This isn't a coordination role that stays a coordination role. We're hiring someone at the start of their marketing career who wants to grow into owning channels end-to-end, and we're committed to training them to do that.
In the short term, you'll support the marketing team across events and webinars. In the medium term, you'll own those channels independently. You'll use AI tools daily, build repeatable systems, and work closely with the Head of Marketing to develop a strong point of view on what moves the needle.
What we actually need is someone who thinks before they act, builds systems behind the work, and sees AI as a genuine force multiplier. If that sounds like you, read on.
Reports to: Head of Marketing
Partners weekly with: Sales, RevOps, Product
What You'll Own
Events (50%)
You'll coordinate 20+ sponsored and hosted events across North America each year. That means owning logistics, vendor management, travel, booth assets, and on-site execution. But more importantly, it means treating every event as a pipeline engine: building pre-event campaign lists, coordinating with SDRs to book meetings ahead of key conferences, tracking interactions on the ground, and running disciplined follow-up so events convert into real opportunities.
Over time, you'll own the full events playbook and report on results, not just activities.
Webinars and Digital Events (30%)
You'll own 1-2 webinars per month from start to finish: topic selection, speaker coordination, promotion, live execution, and follow-up campaigns. You'll build the playbook as you go, and drive registrations through email, paid, and organic channels.
This is a channel we want to invest in more, and you'll be the person who makes it work.
Systems and AI (20%)
You'll use Claude, Clay, and HubSpot daily. Not because it's a requirement on paper, but because the work requires it: building lists, personalising outreach at scale, summarising research, drafting campaign copy, and keeping everything documented so the team can operate without you in the room.
We expect you to actively look for ways to use AI to do more with less, and to share what's working.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- You're energetic, present, and people are drawn to you. You love meeting people and you're genuinely excited about the communities Orah operates in. But that energy doesn't get in the way of the work. You follow through. You build systems. You own results.
- You think before you act. You ask the right questions before deciding what to do, you can clearly articulate the challenge you're facing, and you work with AI to figure out how to solve it.
- You're genuinely curious about AI and you're already using it in your day-to-day life. Not because someone told you to. Because you can see the leverage.
- You want to own something. You're not looking for a role where someone tells you what to do every day. You want to be trained, yes, but you want to grow into a strong individual contributor who's known in the sector.
Hard requirements
- Based in Toronto, available to work from the office three days per week
- Comfortable with monthly US travel
- Has owned at least one event or campaign end-to-end
On experience: We care more about evidence of ownership and learning than years on a resume. If you're 1-3 years into your career and have run things independently, we want to hear from you.
Behavioural DNA
- Follow-through
- Strong Convictions Loosely Held
How We'll Work Together
You'll work directly with Tiago (Head of Marketing) and be part of a lean, high-trust marketing team. In the first three months, we'll work together closely on everything. After that, we expect you to bring your own point of view to how the work gets done. We'll give you the tools, context, and access you need. You'll own the results.
Qualifications
The must-haves:
- Exceptional organisational skills
- High ownership mindset, you see something that needs doing and you do it
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and people simultaneously
- Tech-savvy and genuinely enthusiastic about using AI tools to work smarter (Notion, Slack, ChatGPT/Claude, and similar are second nature to you)
- Discretion and good judgment when handling sensitive information
Nice to have:
- Experience supporting marketing or commercial teams
- Familiarity with tools like HubSpot, Asana, Clay, or similar
- Experience in a fast-moving startup or scale-up environment
How to Apply
We don’t want a cover letter. We want a video. Record a 5-minute video and split it into two parts:
- Part 1 – 2.5 minutes
- "Tell us about a time you had to make something happen from scratch — an event, a trip, a campaign, anything — and walk us through how you did it."
- Part 2 – 2.5 minutes
- "Walk us through how you manage a day where you have five different people asking you for five different things at once. What does your system look like, and how do you make sure nothing slips?"
There's no need to over-produce it. We just want to hear you think and see how you communicate. Be specific, be yourself, and keep to time. Submit your video along with your CV to tiago@orah.com.
