Our machinery is designed and built in our San Antonio factory locations and used worldwide. We are looking for a talented and experienced Machine Designer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of our innovative products. Job Summary: As an Experienced Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for creating detailed CAD models and drawings of machinery components and systems for complete machine designs. Solidworks and Solidworks PDM are our primary CAD vehicles. Your expertise with Solidworks software will play a crucial role in the design process, ensuring that our products are both functional and manufacturable, and approved for fabrication on schedule. ACT machines its own parts, cuts sheet metal on a CNC laser, forms on a CNC press brake, and laser welds systems into complex, task specific, machines. Key Responsibilities: Attend Sales Order release meetings. You will be assigned specific projects in whole or part to work on. Submit a detailed timeline to be reviewed by management that illustrates your ability to meet the schedule. Develop and maintain detailed CAD models and technical drawings for machinery design projects. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to translate concepts into viable designs. Review and analyze designs to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications. Provide a daily thumbnail to management briefly showcasing your project progress as it relates to the approved timeline and schedule. Maximize your software skills to continually improve design efficiency and accuracy. Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members. Create accurate FAB drawings for CNC Laser cutting, CNC Press Brake forming, and Laser Welding of stainless steel, aluminum and steel structures and parts at requisite tolerances. Perform FEA and record data and calculations. Use your engineering skills to deliver accurate pump flows, pressures, filtration devices, heat input (electric and gas), pneumatic circuits and make-up and exhaust ductwork to ASHRAE requirements. Create designs for sanitary orbitally welded tubing including brackets and supports. Incorporate input from the UL Certified electrical department into each system including control panel supports, wireway, and main feed supply for all utilities. Create P & ID drawings. Stay updated with the latest technology and trends in CAD design and machinery engineering. Create IPB’s and ISO and traditional system views, and written machine operation verbiage in support of system documentation requirements. Expect 50-hour work weeks. Qualifications: We are looking for people with real world machinery experience 3 years to 20+ that can be beneficial to our Engineering Department.

Mid-level to senior level experienced personnel are encouraged to apply.

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field welcome but NOT mandatory. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).

Pass a site software test. Strong understanding of machinery design principles and manufacturing processes. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Effective communication skills in English and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
