Job Summary

Job Summary
We are seeking an early-career Mechanical Engineer with 1-2 years of hands-on experience to support the research, design, development, integration, and testing of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom computing hardware and electrical/mechanical components. This role involves mechanical design, hardware integration into chassis and enclosures, documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams to meet customer and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the research, design, development, and testing of COTS and custom computing hardware and electrical/mechanical components
- Develop mechanical designs for the installation of components and assemblies into:
- Chassis
- Racks
- Cabinets
- Workstations
- Customer facilities and shelters
- Create and maintain engineering drawings and models using CAD tools (Creo or similar)
- Support hardware integration and packaging efforts for embedded and computing systems
- Plan, review, and coordinate the preparation of engineering and project documentation to ensure compliance with:
- Customer contracts
- Company standards
- Quality and configuration requirements
- Assist with vendor evaluation, specification development, and component selection
- Review and analyze test results and reports, supporting corrective actions as needed
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering teams
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering discipline, such as:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- 1-2 years of hands-on mechanical engineering experience (internships or co-ops acceptable)
- Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools, preferably Creo
- Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals
- Exposure to electrical or electromechanical hardware integration
- Experience working with computing hardware, enclosures, or rack-mounted systems
- Familiarity with engineering documentation standards and configuration management
- Experience supporting hardware test and validation activities
