Job Description
Job description: We are hiring a Mechanical Engineer for our client in Walterboro, SC.
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will support production operations by
troubleshooting equipment, improving reliability, and maintaining uptime
in a manufacturing environment. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Shift Information
Day Shift: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Essential Functions
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical equipment issues on the production
floor to minimize downtime
Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement
corrective actions
Work directly with maintenance and operations teams to repair, adjust,
and optimize machinery
Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve
equipment reliability
Assist with installation, commissioning, and start-up of new or
modified equipment
Identify and implement practical improvements to existing equipment
and processes
Provide hands-on support for fabrication, modifications, and
mechanical repairs
Partner with CNC operators and maintenance technicians to support
machining and equipment adjustments
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and
plant procedures
Document repairs, modifications, and improvement efforts
Working Conditions
Strong on-the-floor presence in a production/manufacturing environment
Work within a specialty chemical manufacturing setting
Physical Demands
Hands-on involvement with machinery and equipment on the production
floor
Qualifications: Required Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or
equivalent hands-on experience)
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, plant, or industrial
environment
Preferred Education and Experience
CAD experience
General Requirements
Strong hands-on experience with mechanical equipment, troubleshooting,
and repairs
Ability to diagnose issues with pumps, motors, conveyors, and
production machinery
Experience performing root cause analysis in a plant setting
Comfortable working on the production floor and interacting with
operators and maintenance teams
Familiarity with fabrication, machining, or equipment modification
Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on practical, real-world
solutions
