Mechanical Maintenance

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech - Mechanical

Job Responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning:

• Define & support Mechanical CoE goals and plans aligned with overall engineering objectives and cascade goals to the team
• Formulate Mechanical CoE budget and review it with the Engineering & Projects Head
• Participate in the planning exercise and provide inputs for strategic initiatives and critical projects including new technology / tech up-gradation from mechanical perspective

Maintenance & Debottlenecking:

• Devise preventive and breakdown maintenance scheduling norms for all domains as applicable and ensure compliance across manufacturing locations
• Monitor maintenance plan and ensure all preventive maintenance activities are conducted as per plan and budget
• Monitor Annual Maintenance Contracts for various equipment on a periodic basis and ensure renewal of the same in a timely manner
• Lead RCA for chronic mechanical issues and devise clear action plans to resolve issues and minimize breakdowns
• Ensure adherence to turn-around-time in resolution of equipment faults/breakdowns
• Equipments - MSGL reactors, SS / MSRL reactors, Gear boxes, all type pumps, storage tanks, dryers, filter presses, scrubbers, all type of piping, conveyors, material handling equipments, Compressors, chilling plants etc.

Engineering Stores:

• Define inventory norms and collaborate with Indirect Purchase Manager to ensure optimal stocking levels maintained for seamless mechanical operation

Capital Expenses:

• Provide mechanical maintenance expertise in the execution of engineering projects (e.g., new line setup, capacity expansion, ETP plant setup) to ensure seamless integration and operational readiness.
• Assist in selecting and identifying mechanical equipment for projects, collaborating with engineering and project teams to ensure the right equipment solutions are chosen for investment.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of mechanical equipment, ensuring compliance with design specifications and readiness for operation, while supporting the development of new vendors for sourcing critical equipment.

Risk Management & Continuous Improvement:

• Review equipment performance reports on a periodic basis and undertake proactive measures (repairs, replacement, maintenance) to minimize breakdown
• Undertake measures to reduce loss in production due to mechanical related breakdowns
• Collaborate with Business Excellence team to drive process improvements and reduce maintenance costs
• Ensure compliance to all ISO requirements

People Management:

• Ensure effective manning, capability development & engagement of employees so that function objectives are met
• Monitor the performance of the team on a continuous basis to identify key performers
• Arrange for internal and external training for the team including identification of their training needs
