Job Role / Job OverviewDirectly reports to Engineering Manager & General Manager.This position is the technical salesperson who will drive and develop relationships within our keycustomer engineering organization and supporting the broader application/product specificknowledge via direct contact with our customers.
To work closely with customers to recommend products and solutions for new and existingapplications. They identify new applications, requirement modifications and enhancements to meetcustomer specifications and are responsible for all technical aspects of the sales cycle for potentialapplication of company products to meet customer needs, including identifying opportunities;determining solutions; creating demand; preparing detailed product specifications and technicalmarketing support; ensuring high quality and timely project execution and conducting follow-up technical support.
Essential Job FunctionsCommunicate and influence key growth sectors to internal stakeholdersAlign growth plan and customer technical needs closely with overall regional sales strategy plan with sales managersIdentify gaps in our product and technology roadmaps in conjunction with customers' roadmaps.Understand customer technical requirement and propose alternative solutionsIdentify the needs of the customer as early as possible by understanding the Off-Road, EV and /or Automotive Customers products, end markets and applications.Coordination and early involvement of and on-time communication with all involved Volex internal departments (sales manager, program manager, engineering, production, project management, etc.)Ensure on-time customer delivery of all information, including samples and supporting design and product verification activitiesWork with factories engineer to resolve technical issue for new and ECN changes.
Key Qualifications and desirable experienceAdvanced Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in one of the following academic disciplines, electrical, electronic or equivalentStrong interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to build strong, credible relationshipsMust have demonstrated successful experience in process managementBusiness acumen and strong project management skillsMin. 5 yrs experience in Off-Road Vehicles engineering, electric vehicle engineering (automotive) and automotive engineering (preferred)Have a track record in a dynamic, high growth, entrepreneurial environment with experience of rapid change and the confidence to drive the business forward.Experience of driving and implementing business change.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Extremely self-motivated and able to operate independently.Strong problem solving and analytical skills.Willingness to work long hours, to travel extensivelyFluency in English and Bahasa are essentialMandarin language skills will be a plus
