ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Assists with entering and processing hourly and salaried weekly/biweekly multi-state payrolls including exceptions, garnishments, commissions and other earnings or deductions.
Reviews time and attendance data to ensure accurate recording of hours worked as well as paid/ unpaid time off hours and pay adjustments. Assist locations with time and attendance entries. Participates in the review and audit of computed wages and deductions.
Seeks guidance on correcting errors or escalates issues to Payroll Admin Lead in order to ensure accuracy of payroll. Prepares and distributes payroll checks and deposit advices. Issue manual payroll checks as required in case of payroll errors or terminations.
Stops payment or reversals of live checks or direct deposits. Assists managers and employees with basic questions regarding payroll, garnishments or other legal wage assignments as well as paid time off accrual and balance discrepancies. Able to follow and perform Corporate SOX controls and utilize the pre and post audit reports to ensure compliance.
Able to verify employee state and local taxes are set up based on work/home location. Perform biweekly and quarterly wage and tax reconciliation and update system with any adjustments before the quarter close. Assists with reconciling W-2 reporting.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no direct reports or supervisory responsibilities. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
High school diploma or GED. Two years or more of multi-state payroll experience within a large company (5,000+ employees); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working in Dayforce HCM COMPETENCIES Ability to read and comprehend instructions and procedures Ability to communicate basic payroll information both verbally and in writing Ability to plan, organize, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Strong analytical/research, and follow through skills.
Thorough understanding of Federal, State, local tax, IRS, DOL, and FLSA regulations Basic math skills, along with accounting principles through education or work related experience Past working relationship with HR/Finance/Accounting principles to work through issues as they arise.
