Position Details
Job Title : Product Development Manager
Location : New Delhi
Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Automotive / Production Engineering
Experience: 14–18 Years
Job Description:
To lead product development, technical excellence, and aftermarket performance across existing and new product categories, ensuring customer satisfaction, competitive advantage, and sustainable growth.
Scope of Role:
- Product responsibility extends beyond current core portfolio (oil seals, belts,etc.) to include new product categories and expansion opportunities
- Strong interface between product, market, and customer requirements
- Ownership of product financial and business viability, lifecycle, performance, and continuous improvement
Key Responsibilities:
1. Product Development & Lifecycle Management
- Drive new product development (NPD) based on market needs and business strategy
- Expand product portfolio beyond current categories
- Ensure first and faster time-to-market and commercial viability
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (R&D, sourcing, sales, supply chain)
2. Technical Support & Customer Interface
- Provide end-to-end technical support to customers, distributors, and internal teams
- Lead field complaint handling and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Conduct on-site visits for critical issues and ensure timely resolution
- Build strong customer confidence through technical expertise
3. Technical Sales Support
- Support sales team in technical discussions, product positioning, and application engineering
- Develop technical documents, catalogues, and product manuals
- Participate in customer meetings to unlock new business opportunities
4. Product Performance & Benchmarking
- Monitor product performance in aftermarket conditions
- Conduct competitive benchmarking and identify improvement areas
- Drive continuous product enhancement and cost optimization
5. Training & Capability Building
- Conduct technical training programs for dealers, mechanics, and internal teams
- Ensure continuous knowledge upgrade on new technologies and product innovations
