Job Description

Construction contractor specializing in asphalt paving, heavy highway construction, and infrastructure development across the Midwest. Founded in 1967 in Indiana, the company provides services including road construction, bridge work, milling, grade and drain operations, and paving for highways, airports, commercial developments, and residential projects. The company operates multiple asphalt plants and serves government agencies, municipalities, and private sector clients throughout Indiana and neighboring states. Focuses on delivering high-quality infrastructure projects with an emphasis on safety, sustainability, and long-term customer relationships.

Position Overview

Plays a critical role in the overall operations by managing construction projects from the bidding phase through final collection. This role serves as a key point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders, including clients, field teams, and administrative staff. Ensures projects are executed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with company standards and client expectations. Success in this position requires strong communication, organization, and the ability to oversee multiple project components simultaneously.

Must maintain a comprehensive understanding of each assigned project, including scope, schedule, budget, and field execution. Active collaboration with estimators, field superintendents, subcontractors, and company leadership is essential. Clear communication?both verbal and written?is required to ensure alignment across all teams, including documentation and project instructions provided to field personnel.

Key Responsibilities

??Demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety by promoting, communicating, and adhering to all company safety policies and procedures across job sites and office environments.

??Manage projects from initial bid through completion and final billing, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met.

??Maintain and develop strong client relationships while identifying opportunities for additional business and future projects.

??Oversee project management and documentation for Bridge, Grade, and Drain scopes, as well as subcontractor coordination and compliance.

??Collaborate closely with field superintendents and the Area Manager to ensure effective project execution and issue resolution.

??Assist the Contract Administrator with project billing, invoicing, and receivables to support accurate financial tracking and timely payments.

??Provide support to field operations when needed, ensuring project requirements and expectations are clearly communicated and executed.

Preferred Qualifications

??Experience estimating and managing projects for INDOT, KYTC, municipal, or commercial construction contracts.

??Working knowledge of INDOT and/or KYTC specifications, or the ability to quickly develop proficiency.

??Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project, along with experience using digitizing takeoff or similar construction estimating software.

??Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.

Requirements

??Self-motivated professional with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.

??Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.

??Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

??Experience with HCSS HeavyBid and HeavyJob software is preferred.

Education

??Bachelor?s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience. Job 58958

Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 annual salary, company vehicle, 401k w 6% contribution, full benefits package
