Travel: Minimal; primarily onsite
Compensation: $60,000 - $75,000/year

Job Summary

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting, testing, and verifying the performance of machines during and after assembly to ensure they meet Phiston Technologies' quality standards. This role serves as the final checkpoint before products are delivered to customers, ensuring that every machine operates exactly as designed and meets quality and performance requirements.

The inspector will work closely with engineering and production teams to identify issues, document findings, and support continuous improvement in quality control procedures and product reliability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Inspection and Testing
• Perform mechanical, electrical, and functional testing on machines during and after assembly
• Inspect parts, components, and finished equipment using precision tools such as calipers, gauges, and multimeters
• Verify that machines meet required performance and quality standards before shipment
• Monitor production output to ensure compliance with technical specifications

Quality Control and Troubleshooting
• Identify mechanical or technical issues and collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve them
• Conduct root cause analysis on defects or performance issues
• Ensure all equipment meets internal quality standards before leaving the production floor

Documentation and Reporting
• Prepare detailed test reports, inspection documentation, and non-conformance reports
• Maintain accurate records of testing procedures and inspection results
• Assist in refining quality control procedures, testing protocols, and work instructions as products evolve

Process Improvement
• Support the development and improvement of quality assurance processes
• Provide feedback to engineering and production teams to improve product performance and reliability
• Maintain consistent enforcement of Phiston's quality standards for every unit produced

Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical, electromechanical, or technical quality control roles
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with industrial machines or equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions
• Experience using hand tools, test equipment, and precision measurement devices
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment

Preferred Qualifications
• Background in manufacturing, assembly, or hardware testing environments
• Familiarity with ISO standards or formal quality management systems
• Basic electrical troubleshooting experience

Work Environment / Physical Requirements
• Work performed onsite in a manufacturing and production environment
• Frequent use of hand tools, inspection tools, and testing equipment
• Ability to lift 30-50 lbs regularly
• Ability to stand and perform hands-on work for extended periods
• Exposure to machinery, mechanical components, and production equipment
