Virtus Healthcare Staffing is supporting the recruitment efforts for an open Labor & Delivery RN position at a leading Level 4 Maternal Designated Facility in Houston, TX.

This is a full-time nights position at one of the busiest and most advanced women's hospitals in Texas, offering a dynamic and supportive environment for Labor & Delivery nurses ready to grow their careers.

Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing (BSN preferred).
  • Current State of Texas RN license or compact license to practice professional nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Additional certifications may be required depending on unit needs.
  • Minimum of 1-1.5 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care for Labor & Delivery patients, including assessments, treatments, and patient education.
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality care throughout labor and delivery.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans, including discharge and transfer planning.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in medical records.
  • Mentor and precept less experienced nurses to support professional development.
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and uphold regulatory and professional standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety and compassionate care for patients and their families.
