Job Description
Weekend evenings/overnight coverage needed immediately for Private Duty Nursing Position in West Lakeland Township (between Lake Elmo and Bayport) weekend one. West St. Paul off Robert and 694 weekend two. Other shifts available on schedule.
Client is a 28 year old male who is non-ambulatory, but mobile in his electric wheel chair daily. He walks daily in a walker for exercise. He is 65 lbs and is a one person transfer. He is on one sub-cut injection a day. He is happy and alert and goes out in community for walks, shopping, train shows, etc.
He is on a Trilogy ventilator with a uncuffed trach (is off vent 6 hours/daily). Client is very stable making it a good situation for nurses to learn ventilator and suctioning skills. G-tube for hydration/meds only. Consumes all meals orally. No disposable pants, toilets and lets you know when needed. Does some self occupation so is a good job for nursing students. He can do some communication, one-word sentences.
This is a pleasant position in a great environment with a good team of helpful skilled nurses, most have been here for several years.
Skills needed, but will train: Ventilator, trach, G-tube, transfers, injections.

Hourly Pay: $38/40 (shift differential for overnights)
REQUIRED: Nursing License: registered on MN Board of Nursing website in good standing Passing background study Driver’s License/reliable transportation Committed and reliable nurse for shifts scheduled Works well with the team of skilled nurses and family CPR or BLS certificate up to date or close Two step or Gold standard TB test (or X-Ray) Can read, write and speak English
