Position Type: Student Support Services/Psychologist Date Posted: 3/4/2026 Location: Lockport School District 91 Date Available: 08/03/2026 Closing Date: 04/10/2026 POSITION TITLE: SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST DEPARTMENT: Student Services CLASSIFICATION: Certified REPORTS TO: Special Education Administrator QUALIFICATIONS : Valid Illinois Type 73 Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Psychology endorsement Knowledge of methods of assessment; systematic processes to collect data, translate assessment results into empirically based decisions about service delivery, and evaluate outcomes of services. Knowledge of learning processes, appropriate instructional interventions to meet students' needs, and the ability to implement and assess their effectiveness. Knowledge of behavioral mental health, collaborative and/or consultation models and methods, and their application.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES : The school psychologist shall provide services to STUDENTS in relation to the curriculum while considering cognitive and social development by: Conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations that include but are not limited to the assessment of intellectual, developmental, academic, social/emotional, and behavioral status. Utilizing formal as well as informal data collection techniques Interpreting and utilizing assessment data for the purpose of writing psychological reports and developing written intervention plans Providing direct services such as individual or group counseling sessions Providing crisis intervention Providing social skills training and behavior management Conducting functional analyses to help understand the underlying reasons for behavior and developing behavioral plans Identifying potential learning difficulties Assessing environmental factors that may influence learning Participating in IEP conferences and school teams to assist in problem-solving and program planning Providing support for case management of students eligible for a 504 plan Serving in the role of local education agency (LEA) for special education meetings The School Psychologist shall provide services to the PARENTS of District 91 by: Assisting parents in locating educational and mental health resources Consulting with parents regarding psycho-educational, social, or behavioral information Assisting parents in developing home interventions Offering information workshops on a variety of topics The School Psychologist shall provide services to the TEACHERS in District 91 by: Providing consultation in planning and implementing appropriate classroom management strategies and other learning and behavioral interventions, including strategies to support students with specialized learning needs (e.g., 504s, IEPs, individual learning plans, etc.) Assisting in adapting/modifying the curriculum to meet the varying rates, patterns, and needs of all students Facilitating multidisciplinary teams in the development, implementation, and monitoring of comprehensive Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) Leading teams through the MTSS process, involving data collection and problem-solving meetings Collaborating on effective interventions and accommodations to meet the needs of diverse learners Providing professional development sessions on specific topics of interest Translating research into instructional practice; understand research design and statistics in sufficient depth to plan and conduct investigations and program evaluations for improvement of services Facilitating positive communication amongst all partners in the program planning process Evaluating the effectiveness of academic programs and behavioral management systems Oversees data collection and progress monitoring at every tier Supervising psychology interns or school psychology practicum students Supporting Lockport SD 91 Policy, IDEA Requirements, and The School Code of Illinois. EVALUATION : School Psychologists are evaluated by the special education administrator with input from the building principals.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board of Education's policy on the Evaluation of Professional Personnel, developed pursuant to State law. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-Time Salary and benefits to be determined based upon candidates' qualifications and related experience in education; salary range is $55,000 to $80,000, and benefits are commensurate with the collective bargaining agreement.
