Job Description – Mechanical Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Develop and create innovative mechanical concepts and designs based on client requirements, technical specifications, and industry standards.
Lead the concept design phase and convert ideas or rough sketches into detailed 3D models using CAD tools such as Solid Edge, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or AutoCAD.
Conduct feasibility studies including stress analysis, material selection, tolerance stack-ups, and cost estimation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams—manufacturing, production, and quality—to ensure designs are practical and production-ready.
Generate detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and documentation required for manufacturing and assembly.
Perform design reviews, identify potential risks, and implement corrective improvements.
Stay updated on emerging industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure designs remain competitive.
Provide engineering support during prototype development, testing, and validation stages.
Prepare and present design proposals, reports, and technical documentation to clients and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

4–12 years of experience in mechanical design, with strong exposure to concept design.
Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Solid Edge, or equivalent tools.
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
Hands-on experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis), simulation tools, and validation methods.
Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative and efficient solutions.
Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in design work.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
