Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Summary:
The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations and supporting the integrity of the organization's financial reporting. This role supervises Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, performs and reviews general ledger activities, and plays a key role in the month-end and year-end close processes. The Senior Staff Accountant partners with leadership to ensure compliance with GAAP, maintain strong internal controls, and drive efficient, accurate accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review work prepared by Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff; provide guidance, support, and training as needed.
  • Oversee transactional accounting activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with weekly cash flow reporting and month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and depreciation.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and related reports.
  • Support external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies and procedures.
  • Identify and implement process improvements; document accounting procedures and workflows.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve accounting discrepancies and improve financial operations.
  • Complete special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 4-7 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
  • Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Sound judgment and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Pay Details: $90,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year
