Role Summary & Key Objectives

We are seeking an experienced Ecommerce Development Lead to head our ecommerce technology initiatives, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing digital commerce platforms. This role will involve leading a team of developers, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and driving end-to-end delivery of ecommerce solutions that align with business objectives. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership and problem-solving skills to deliver seamless online experiences for our customers.

Core Responsibilities

• Solution Design & Development – Architect, design, and oversee development of ecommerce platforms (Magento, Shopify, WooCommerce, Hybris, or custom solutions) ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
• Team Leadership – Lead, mentor, and guide a team of developers; establish coding standards, conduct code reviews, and foster continuous learning.
• Project Delivery – Manage end-to-end delivery of ecommerce projects, ensuring timely releases, quality, and alignment with business requirements.
• Integration & Optimization – Implement third‑party integrations (payment gateways, ERP, CRM, logistics, marketing tools) and optimize system performance.
• Stakeholder Collaboration – Work closely with product managers, UI/UX designers, QA, and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Innovation & Best Practices – Stay updated with ecommerce technology trends, propose improvements, and ensure adoption of best practices in development and DevOps.
• Quality & Compliance – Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and data privacy standards while delivering exceptional user experience.

Must-Have Skills

Technical

• Strong expertise in ecommerce platforms (Magento 2.x, Shopify Plus, WooCommerce, Hybris, or custom-built solutions).
• Proficiency in PHP, Node.js, React/Angular, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of databases (MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL) and caching mechanisms.
• Knowledge of performance tuning, security protocols, and SEO‑friendly development practices.

Soft Skills

• Proven leadership and people management skills.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical thinking.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Exposure to headless commerce and progressive web apps (PWA).

• Knowledge of order management systems (OMS) and ERP/CRM integrations.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins).
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum practices and JIRA/Confluence.

Experience Requirements

• 8–12 years of overall experience in software development.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in ecommerce platform development & customization.
• At least 3 years in a leadership/architect role managing teams and project deliveries.
