AMD is looking for a highly experienced and technically hands-on software engineer to work on the development of diagnostic software for next-generation data center products. This role is critical to enabling early hardware validation, ensuring long-term reliability, and accelerating time-to-market for complex platforms.
The candidate will play a central role in board bring-up, high-speed interface validation, and network switch diagnostics, working closely with cross-functional teams to support platform power-on, debug, and production readiness.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and develop diagnostic software, test frameworks, and automation tools for board and system-level validation
- Build and maintain test scripts and utilities (Python/C) for hardware bring up, validation, and production screening
- Define and implement diagnostic test coverage across functionality, stress, performance, and system stability
- Debug hardware/firmware issues (ASIC, CPLD) using diagnostic tools and drive root cause analysis
- Support EVT/DVT validation by developing reusable diagnostic tools and improving test efficiency
- Enable and support manufacturing test, including diagnostic integration, automation, and yield improvement
- Work with ODM/CM partners and internal teams to debug issues and enhance test coverage
Preferred experience includes:
- Experience supporting EVT/DVT or manufacturing test environments
- Experience working with ODM partners or large-scale system validation
- Familiarity with Linux-based test environments, IPMI/Redfish, and system interfaces
Academic credentials:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent
