Software Engineer

We're looking for a software engineer to join our small, high-leverage team at ToltIQ. You'll work across our Python backend, cloud infrastructure, and AI integrations, shipping features end-to-end in a codebase that touches real users every day. We're looking for someone who's curious about infrastructure, genuinely interested in how AI and LLMs apply to real products, and comfortable working independently, shipping incrementally, and asking good questions along the way.

We're a small team moving fast, which means the work you do here has real impact from day one. This position is based in the greater New York City area. It is a hybrid role requiring at least three days per week in our NYC office.

The yearly salary range for this job is $100,000-$150,000. What You'll Work On Build and extend API endpoints and business logic in our FastAPI backend Write and maintain database models, migrations, and queries against PostgreSQL Integrate with LLM providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) to power document analysis and extraction features Collaborate on async workflow orchestration with Temporal.io Contribute to infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) managing AWS resources, Kubernetes clusters, and CI/CD pipelines Write tests, improve observability, and keep the system reliable as we scale What We're Looking For 2-4 years of professional software engineering experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent field Strong Python fundamentals; experience with FastAPI or similar frameworks is a plus Comfort with SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL) Familiarity with Docker, Git, and CI/CD workflows Nice to Have Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes/EKS, ArgoCD, or Temporal.io Exposure to observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Honeycomb, or Grafana Background in multi-tenant SaaS applications Familiarity with Pydantic AI What We Offer Competitive base salary, with additional bonus and equity opportunities 401(k) Health Insurance Daily lunch and dinner stipend Equal Opportunity Employer ToltIQ is an equal opportunity employer.
