Job Description
A global corporation specializing in international trade and development is seeking a Supervisor for its Supply Chain Management Department in the greater Greensboro, NC area.
This position is responsible for overseeing end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement, logistics coordination, inventory control, and customer order fulfillment. The role also manages communication and coordination with customers, headquarters, overseas affiliates, and suppliers, while supervising all team members, including Supply Chain Specialist, Customer Service Representatives and Account Executives, to ensure alignment between supply chain operations and customer management. This position plays a critical role in driving operational efficiency, enhancing customer satisfaction, and ensuring seamless cross-border supply chain execution. This is a full-time, 100% onsite, exempt position.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise SCM team to ensure alignment between supply chain operations and customer requirements.
- Perform communication and coordination with customers, headquarters, overseas affiliates, suppliers, and manufacturers.
- Oversee procurement, including demand planning, purchase orders, supplier management, and overseas sourcing.
- Supervise logistics operations, including shipment coordination, documentation, and compliance with import/export regulations.
- Oversee inventory control and demand planning to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize excess or aged inventory.
- Ensure accurate order processing, invoicing, pricing control (ERP), accounts receivable management, and support monthly closing activities.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support and supervise SCM operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Global Business, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, logistics, or procurement
- 3+ years of supervisory or team management experience with demonstrated leadership responsibility
- Experience in the automotive manufacturing industry
- Proven experience managing international operations and cross-border supply chain activities
- Strong knowledge of import/export regulations, trade compliance, and documentation
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., JD Edwards / E1 or similar)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skills
- Experience working with global headquarters and overseas affiliates in a multinational environment
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as required
- Ability to work in both office and warehouse/manufacturing environments, including visiting customer sites and supplier facilities, with the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, occasionally lift up to 25–30 lbs, and comply with all required safety regulations and PPE requirements.
