To accelerate our global expansion, now we are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Plastic Technical Support Engineer to join our Japan team. This role is crucial for ensuring customer success by addressing specific high-performance polymers technical challenges encountered during product selection ,substitution, processing applications, and quality improvement. You will serve as the key technical bridge between European customers and regional sales team and also our headquarters' R&D and Quality teams.

Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of this position consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

Technical Consultation & Product Selection:

  • Gain deep understanding of customer application scenarios, performance requirements, and existing product information to provide professional technical consultation.
  • Recommend the most suitable alternative products based on customer's technical needs and currently products which using , with detailed explanation of selection rationale and advantages.

Processing Problem Resolution:

  • Provide on-site technical support for process issues encountered in major plastic processing methods (including but not limited to injection molding, extrusion, and compression molding).
  • Conduct problem diagnosis and root cause analysis, developing effective solutions and optimizing processing parameters to ensure product quality.

Quality Issue Collection & Quality Improvement:

  • Systematically collect, analyze, and verify product quality issues reported by customers during manufacturing processes.
  • Transform field problems into clear technical language and quality requirements, creating standardized reports.
  • Collaborate closely with headquarters' technology and quality departments to jointly establish and improve product standards, production processes, and quality control procedures, thereby fundamentally enhancing product quality to meet customer requirements.

Application Development Support:

  • Responsible for collecting key technical details and customer requirements for new application development projects.
  • Work collaboratively with the headquarters' application technology team to participate in the development and testing of new solutions, providing field data and support from the European market.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Polymer Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Over 10 years of experience in technical support or process engineering within the plastics/polymer industry. PEEK experience prefer.
  • Solid knowledge of Europe plastic processing technologies, particularly familiar with Europe injection molding, extrusion processes and Compression Molding, capable of independently troubleshooting process issues in Japan.
  • Familiarity with common material analysis techniques (e.g., DSC, TGA, DMA, FTIR) and the ability to interpret test reports for problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with polymer application requirements and technical standards in one or two core sectors such as Auto, Electric, Industry, Energy, Aerospace is preferred.
  • Fluency in English & German is mandatory. Proficiency in French or Italian is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites across Europe (approximately 30-50%).
