Job Description Apprentice Plumber (2-3 Years Experience) Location: Texas Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To: Licensed Journeyman or Master Plumber Position Summary The Apprentice Plumber (2-3 Years Experience) performs skilled plumbing work under the supervision of a licensed Journeyman or Master Plumber in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role is designed for a developing tradesperson who is actively registered with the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners and has gained solid field experience. The Apprentice is expected to work with increasing independence while maintaining strict compliance with Texas plumbing codes and safety regulations.
Benefits: Competitive salary based on experience Health, dental, and vision insurance 401K with company match Paid time off with holidays Opportunities for professional growth and development Key Responsibilities Assist in and independently perform installation of water, sanitary, and gas piping systems Install and replace plumbing fixtures, valves, and water heaters Rough-in plumbing systems for new construction and remodeling projects Interpret blueprints, specifications, and plumbing schematics Perform basic troubleshooting and assist in diagnosing system failures Conduct pressure testing and system inspections under supervision Ensure compliance with state and local plumbing codes Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and materials used Mentor and support entry-level apprentices when appropriate Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites Qualifications 2-3 years of hands-on plumbing experience Active Apprentice Plumber registration with the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners Working knowledge of plumbing codes, materials, and installation standards Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Proficiency using hand and power tools Valid Texas driver's license with acceptable driving record Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in confined spaces, heights, and varying weather conditions Skills & Competencies Strong technical aptitude Ability to work with limited supervision Solid problem-solving skills Effective communication and teamwork abilities Commitment to safety and high-quality workmanship Time management and reliability Work Environment Work is performed at residential, commercial, and industrial job sites. The role involves exposure to varying weather conditions, construction environments, and physically demanding tasks. Overtime, weekend work, and emergency service calls may be required based on project demands.
Career Path This position prepares the Apprentice for advancement to Journeyman Plumber upon meeting licensing requirements and demonstrating technical competency, leadership potential, and code proficiency.
