Position Summary Reporting to the Executive Director of Development and Strategic Initiatives, the Assistant Director of Advancement plays an integral role in strengthening and expanding philanthropic support for Fordham University School of Law.

This position will help to successfully execute the Law School's upcoming campaign and oversee all operational logistics. The incumbent also focuses on increasing annual giving participation among alumni, parents, and friends, with particular emphasis on cultivating and growing donors at the Dean's Society level and encouraging engagement in new leadership giving societies. This position requires local travel and regular evening and weekend work to accommodate donor meetings and events.

Essential Functions Builds and maintains a portfolio of approximately 150 annual gift prospects. Qualifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards donors through substantive in-person and virtual donor visits based on goals established through the annual goal-setting process. Devises individual engagement strategies for each prospect in their pool with the goal of soliciting annual gifts and/or multi-year gift commitments at the $1,000 level.

Oversees logistics for new law school fundraising campaign by serving as a primary point of contact for alumni volunteer leaders, providing them with the necessary tools, briefings, and data to support their outreach efforts. Focuses on the data and reporting aspects of the campaign, ensuring accurate pledge/gift tracking and stewardship. Grows membership and philanthropic support for Dean's Society members and new Leadership Giving societies.

Represents the Law School at on- and off-campus events, supports special fundraising initiatives, and contributes to the overall goals of the Development Office, collaborating closely with colleagues across development, alumni relations, and Law School leadership to align fundraising strategies and donor engagement efforts. Management Responsibilities Not responsible for supervision or oversight of others. Additional Functions Required Qualifications: Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree. Minimum of three years of experience in development.

Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills Demonstrated understanding of annual giving strategies, constituencies, methods, metrics, and best practices. Command of MS Office applications (especially MS Excel, Powerpoint, and Word), Google Suite, and a good understanding of database applications. G-Mail merges.

Able to communicate clearly and professionally; demonstrate excellent interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills. Detail-oriented, professional, and collaborative. Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion when handling confidential information.

Experience interacting with senior executives in the profit and non-profit sectors, and comfortable interacting with professionals at all levels. Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Strong skills using personal computers, tablets, and software programs for retrieving, organizing, researching, and presenting appropriate donor/prospect information; proficiency with MS Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications Experience in frontline fundraising and development in higher education. Experience with Canva, SAPConcur, Zoom Software, Ellucian CRM Advance, and Blackbaud Fundraiser Performance Management. Minimum Starting Salary $70,000 Maximum Starting Salary $80,000 Note Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
