Child Life Specialist Pediatrics ED

Job Summary: SUNY Upstate is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Child Life Specialist to be part of Upstate's Pediatric Child Life Team working within the Upstate Pediatric ED. Key Responsibilities: Provide developmental and psychosocial support for pediatric patients and families. Assess children's developmental and coping needs.

Provide preparation, age appropriate diversion andmotional support to minimize distress associated with hospitalization and/or medical encounters. Collaborates as a member of an interdisciplinary health care team. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Child Life,Child Development, Psychology or related field.

Must have completed a Child Life Internship under the direct supervision of a Certified Child Life Specialist. Current Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) credential requiredor ability to obtain certification within one year of hire. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree preferred.

Work Days: 4- 10 Hour Shifts with rotating weekends.
