Job Description: Client is seeking an Automation Engineer to support ongoing laboratory operations by developing, maintaining, and supporting automated test scripts for EV battery pack development and validation testing. This role is focused on steady ‐ state lab operations, ensuring reliable, safe, and efficient execution of test programs through high ‐ quality automation, scripting, and software support. The Automation Engineer will work closely with battery pack test engineers and test requestors to support current and evolving testing needs.

Responsibilities: Create, peer review, validate, release, and maintain automated test scripts used for battery pack testing Ensure all test scripts comply with applicable safety requirements, test procedures, and functional requirements Provide ongoing software and automation support to ensure proper execution of lab tests Troubleshoot and resolve test script, software, and execution issues during testing Provide on ‐ testbed support as needed to ensure tests are running safely and correctly Support test engineers in test project meetings as required Support root cause analysis and resolution of issues identified during testing Maintain open and effective communication with test requestors to stay aligned with testing requirements Apply common software development processes and implement best practices to ensure script quality, reliability, and maintainability Support test data processing and analysis when required Contribute to initiatives that improve lab efficiency, throughput, and cost, including analysis, modelling, and simulation Ensure all required training and certifications remain up to date Escalate technical, safety, or operational issues to management as needed Requirements: Minimum 3 years of experience in test scripting and automation of hardware systems (excluding software application testing) Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as VB Script, MATLAB, and Python Working knowledge of CAN communication Strong problem ‐ solving and analytical skills with keen attention to detail Excellent ability to write clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast ‐ paced lab environment Legally eligible to work in Canada Preferred Qualifications: Master of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field Experience with AVL PUMA / LYNX scripting environments Experience using CAN tools such as Vector CANalyzer Knowledge of Lithium ‐ ion battery systems and battery characterization Experience with battery pack testing or related system ‐ level testing Demonstrated effort to stay current with advancements in test automation and data management technologies Education: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
